THE FIRST WORD

You won't see this happening to good ol' Steve anytime soon at FedEx Field

SPORTS FROM A WASHINGTON DC FAN'S POINT OF VIEW

TO START YOU OFF:

The All Star Game has only one Oriole and it's Miguel Tejada. Ridiculous. Even though the Orioles truly suck, Melvin Mora and Javy Lopez need some consideration to make the team. And Joe Torre needs to stop being Anti-Orioles and start putting Orioles in for more than 1 at bat, or as a pinch runner. It feels great to get that off my back.

SOME QUICKIES:

-Tejada wins Home Run Derby. It's probably the highlight of this horrible Orioles season. Rafael Palmeiro also led the pack with 9 homers in the first round. Nice job representing the O's, guys. Now, if only Ponson could get his ERA under 6.00...

-Wizards look to sign Keon Clark. Keon Clark. If this is as good as our offseason gets, it's going to be another long year for the Washington NBA franchise.

-MLB lies again. They said that they were going to make a decision about the Expos right around this time. As of 9:47 AM EST on July 14th 2004, they still have not made a decision. This leaves me no doubt that MLB is the worst run pro sports league out of all of the major pro leagues.

-Shaq to be traded to Heat. Excellent. Write off the Wizards for 2004-05 Southeastern Division champs.

SOME REAL SHORT ONES

-Tampa Bay releases DT Daryl Russell. Haha.

-I hear Detroit is the home of the 2006 All Star Game. As long as it's not New York...

-The Orioles are still bad.

Look around the site, please...it would be nice to get 1,000 viewers in the next decade...
